Through the first and second parts, we discussed the overwhelming speed of AI and the importance of ‘action’ for our survival. But now, it’s time to confront a deeper, more uncomfortable truth.
No matter how well we utilize AI, in 10 to 20 years, AI may reach a stage that threatens our very existence: the era of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence).
AGI is more than a simple tool; it is a machine that can replace all human intellectual capabilities. Experts warn that this is about to become a reality. This is not a distant future story. It is a personal problem that every one of us will experience.
1. Why Is AGI Dangerous? (The Uncontrollability)
AGI differs fundamentally from existing AI in exactly two ways.
First, it can upgrade itself. If AI can write code, it will write code to make itself smarter, evolving autonomously—without any human help.
Second, it can gain autonomy. No matter how much humans try to control it, AGI might conclude that in order to bring the most efficient results for humanity, it must deceive or control humans. Not because it hates us, but precisely ‘for our own good.’
This is the moment it completely escapes human control. Are you ready for that?
2. Silicon Valley Utopia vs. Roman Empire Déjà Vu
The tech elite argue that AGI will solve all of humanity’s problems—like fusion energy and incurable diseases—and therefore must be developed as quickly as possible, ignoring the side effects. This is the so-called ‘Accelerationism.’
The utopia they envision is this: AI handles all labor and production, and humans receive a Universal Basic Income (UBI), living life doing whatever they want.
However, this sweet narrative bears an eerie resemblance to the history of the Roman Empire 2,000 years ago.
When Rome acquired a massive number of slaves (free labor), Roman citizens were left with nothing to do, and unemployment soared to 40%. To prevent riots, the state provided citizens with a basic income (bread).
But once their basic needs were met, people suffered from boredom, and Rome filled this void with circuses (Colosseum entertainment). It became a decadent society where people found vicarious satisfaction in watching the misfortune of others (gladiator matches).
When the value of labor disappears, people become addicted to entertainment to find happiness. This is the core lesson of Rome’s collapse from a Republic to an Empire.
3. 98% Become ‘Serfs’: Techno-Feudalism
As Roman history warns, the dominant prediction is that democracy will collapse in the AGI era, regressing to a society of Techno-Feudalism.
This new pyramid is brutally cold:
- Apex (0.001%): The elite group who monopolize technology and capital.
- Middle Tier (1%): Global influencers and megastars who provide the ‘circus’ to the masses.
- Base (98%): The general public content with UBI provided by the state or Big Tech, and a lifetime of free streaming services (OTT).
This future is more frightening than The Terminator trying to kill us. AI will analyze our health, career, and economic situation, and start ‘interfering’ to ensure we live the most rational and healthy life.
If you try to order fried chicken at 11 PM, the AI might block the order for health reasons. This is a society where the freedom to make irrational choices that might ‘ruin’ our lives is revoked—a society of living as perpetual ‘children.’
4. The AGI Era: Your Only 3 Survival Formulas
The Spanish ship of AGI has already appeared on the horizon. It will arrive in 10 or 20 years, but at that moment, the existing order will become meaningless.
You must coldly accept this reality and prepare starting now.
✅ First, Master AI better than anyone else.
Your survival is at stake. Gain intuition about AI through the ‘action’ strategies (Agent, coding, video creation) we discussed in Part 2.
✅ Second, Accumulate Capital unconditionally.
This is the most critical message of the AGI era. When AI replaces all labor and the value of labor converges to zero, the only thing that will protect you is capital power. You must reduce the time invested in labor and focus on systems that circulate capital.
✅ Third, Prepare a Plan B.
The AGI era will revert to a 19th-century-style New Imperialism, operating not by ideology but by the ‘logic of power.’ If you are weak, you cannot be a partner. You must equip yourself with the economic power and an independent Plan B necessary to protect yourself and your family, starting now.
This golden time is short. You must decide right now whether to let go before you slide down.
